Imagine a spreadsheet system (that comes with your window manager - free of course),
that includes all the features expected of a spreadsheet, but with more.
Add a Plug-in system (and I don't mean Macros) to that and you have an idea of what's
coming to your Desktop soon. Developed as part of the GNOME Project, GNUmetric is a alternative option to commercial spreadsheets, and will have file loading support for all the major systems like Excel and Lotus 1.2.3 Currently it has most if not all the basic features needed in a spreadsheet and a few extra's such as allowing lines, boxes and ellipses within the spreadsheet.
